Fooling Around
I think this year may have been the first year in my life that somebody didn't perform some kind of retarded April Fool's prank in my vicinity. Thankfully, nobody I know is clever enough to pull any kind of elaborate prank-- or if they are clever enough, they're too lazy (or too adult) to bother actually doing it.
Fortunately, the internet has picked up where everyone else left off. Here's a few of the fun jokes that popped up on April 1st.
How about "Tattoo Your Toddler?" (Read some of the reactions from people when you get a chance.)
Google and Gmail announce their newest innovation-- Gmail Paper!
Speaking of new internet innovations, check this one out, courtesy of BBC news: Sniff-Screen Technology. As if anyone would want to smell the news headlines.
The British, apparently, love April Fool's Day. Check out this article in The Independent about growing your own Viagara. I love this quote:
And not to be outdone, The Guardian reports that Tony Blair is preparing for a new career.
Of course, some US News outlets got in on the fun, too. CNN reported that the Mars Rover found signs of life. You have to click on the picture for the example.
My favorite of the sports-related pranks comes from the Great White North, where the Winnipeg Sun reports that Terrell Owens is on his way to the Canadian Football League. THere are a few conditions to his contract, however:
If so much as one snowflake lands on Owens during his time in Winnipeg, the Bombers will have to pay him $30,000.
Finally, 24 fans may have freaked out if they read that Kiefer Sutherland walked out on the show. Never fear, though. Ben Stiller is taking his place.
Stumble It!

"Everyone loves Gmail. But not everyone loves email, or the digital era. What
ever happened to stamps, filing cabinets, and the mailman? Well, you asked for
it, and it’s here. We’re bringing it back."

"The effect was almost immediate. I had to stay in my potting shed for an hour
or so before I could decently walk down the street."
