Golden Anniversary
Fifty years ago, a cinematic masterpiece was released. It didn't win an Oscar, didn't star Katherine Hepburn or Kirk Douglas. It didn't even last seven minutes. But it's been one of my favorites for at least half of those fifty years, and I know that a lot of you love it, too.
This afternoon, I read a fantastic article in the Star, celebrating Chuck Jones' Wagnerian Masterpiece, "What's Opera Doc?"
To quote Steve Watt, the article's author:
And yet, when it happened, it became recognized as the greatest cartoon in history.
